January Newsletter

Happy New Year, everyone! The end of the holiday season always feels a little bittersweet to me, but I’m excited for the new experiences and opportunities 2013 will bring. And, despite a formidable failure rate of 88%, I always enjoy setting a New Year's resolution.

This year my New Year's resolution is to start exercising more. Ok, I lied by using the word "more" in that sentence. But, I really am fired up about starting a fitness regimen in 2013. See, I’ve even started using phrases like “fired up” to display my enthusiasm for fitness! Granted, I'm eating tortilla chips and drinking soda as I write this Newsletter, so I'm not exactly off on the right foot here. Not really on any feet, actually. It's like I'm on the treadmill, but I'm sitting down and it's turned off. It may even be unplugged. But that's ok. I treat New Year's resolutions as more of a marathon than a sprint. And I've been running this same marathon for several years strong, so if nothing else I should be praised for my endurance! In fact, the sheer focus and perseverance I've demonstrated in my ongoing efforts to resist exercise for the past few years is nothing short of awe-inspiring!

Ok, now that I've justified my inability to maintain a New Year's resolution I can move on to more important things...like what L3 Payments has in store for the weeks ahead! First, there's XBIZ. Not only will L3 Payments be attending the XBIZ 360 tradeshow in Hollywood, but we've also received an XBIZ award nomination for Billing Company of the Year - Merchant Services! We're honored to be recognized for our hard work and continued dedication to ensuring long term success for our clients. Very cool. Also, if you don't catch us at XBIZ, we'll be attending the Internext EXPO in Las Vegas. We look forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones at both events!

With the New Year and new opportunities on the horizon, it's also a good time to be reminded of the myriad start-up companies out there trying to get your merchant account business. Melody Lashmar's recent article offers some great advice on avoiding the potential pitfalls of doing business with these inexperienced providers. Check it out!

Lastly, don't forget to follow us on Facebook and Twitter for important updates and the occasional amusing anecdote. We wish everyone a happy, healthy and prosperous 2013!
